Bülent ÇAMLICA

bulent camlicaBülent Çamlıca founded the first consultancy firm in Turkey providing analyses for the harmonization with European Union acquis and strategies for competition in 1993.  He was a pioneer in providing advice on compliance with the new regulations introduced as a result of the Customs Union with the EU and especially the competition rules.  Believing that the expanding economy and deepening markets required a solid corporate consultancy in Turkey working at international standards, he established ACT Istanbul (renamed ACTECON in 2008) in 2003.

He was in charge of internal coordination at ACTECON and consulted his clients on competition rules, strategy, project finance and government affairs.

Çamlıca defined consultancy as “understanding the needs of the clients and developing solutions designed for implementation”.  He viewed himself as a “consultancy entrepreneur”.  In his relationships trust and sincerity were his priorities.  His criterion of success was the success of the client, his compass was the advancement of social welfare through a well-functioning market economy.

Çamlıca never lost his enthusiasm for developing new projects; lately he had concentrated on the agricultural sector and launched important initiatives for agricultural investments and technology.

Bülent Çamlıca passed away in his office on 20th of January, 2011, due to a heart stroke.
