< Who are we? / Ali ILICAK
Ali Ilıcak is an economist specialized on competition economics and management consultancy. He works with leading companies in automotive, cement, advertising, pharmaceuticals, medical materials and telecom. He is active in phase II M&A cases, cartel investigations and compliance programs. He is one of the pioneers of economists who introduces econometrics solving legal matters in Turkish jurisdiction. He is cowriter of the first empiric article on enforcement of private antitrust litigation in Turkey.
Before joining ACTECON in 2005, Mr. Ilıcak worked as a competition expert at the Competition Authority for seven years. He was involved in investigations across several sectors during his office and examined mergers and acquisitions. Concurrent with these works, he contributed to the drafting of various regulations and communiqués including the “2005/4 Motor vehicle Distribution Regulation”. Mr. Ilıcak received his master’s degree from the Department of Economics at Boston University in 2005. He currently teaches “Pharmaceutical Law” in İstanbul Bilgi University, LLM program.
